In this four-week class, participants receive instructions on Mindfulness Meditation with weekly group practice and daily self exercises at home.  The intend of the 4-week class, is to help you develop a wholesome habits and gain the understanding of the practice of mindful meditation.

Background
We live very busy and sometimes chaotic lives. There are times we wish to slow down and smell the roses. In the past twenty years, a wealth of scientific and medical research studies and programs have explored the benefits of Mindfulness Meditation. It has found its way into the business world, schools, military, medical,and other areas.

This class is an introduction to the Fundamentals of Mindfulness with emphasis on “doing” more so then concepts. Consisting of four weekly sessions with instructions and actual practices.  The class uses the meditation taught by the Buddha 2,500 years ago.  It is aimed to introduce and develop the mindfulness skills for busy urban lives. It is designed to allow individuals to develop regular mindfulness habits therefore attendance to all classes are mandatory.

Expectations and Schedule:
To benefit from the program, all participants are expected to commit to class schedules and requirements.  The four classes are conducted over 4 consecutive weeks. Weekly instructions are given and follow by round robin group discussions.

  • Participants get to understand and apply the “How to” of mindfulness meditation
  • Acquire the basics of Mindfulness Meditation (Mahasi Methods)
  • Apply Mindfulness habits
  • Develop 24 x 7 awareness in Urban living (yes, even during busy office hours)
