The retreat was from Dec 4th to Dec 18th lead by well respected and beloved meditation master Ven. Seelananda. We had a total of 20 practitioners and some attended the full course while others were partial attendance. The first 7 days of the retreat Ven. Seelananda taught Anapana Meditation (Breath Meditation) and the remainder of the retreat he guided the teaching of vapassana (insight) meditation. Bhikkhu T. In the fourth sessions of the TBA IMG meditation, VenK read and discussed the paragraphs on walking meditation as was taught by Sayādaw U Pandita in his book- " In This Very Life: The Liberation Teachings of The Buddha ". Most of us feel that meditation is "just sitting" and does not pay heed to the practice of walking meditation. It was quite reviewing with the discussion that the group had in our last lecture. Meditation Center Fund Raising Opportunites 2022

Santarama Buddhist Hermitage meditation center in Penang, Malaysia Currently some renovation for the meditation hall and ladies quarters are ongoing due to termites infestation.  This renovation will enhance the safety and comfort for the yogis in future. Previously, multiple insight meditation group retreats had been held here, including retreats led by Bhante Gavesi. 1st phase - roof and beams (meditation hall) 2nd phase - roof, beams, new toilets, flooring, walls (ladies quarters).   3rd phase - roof, beams (dining hall) The center needs to raise RM250,000 (USD$60,000) for 1st and 2nd phase; and later this year, the budget for 3rd phase.
