April 2019 Meditation Retreat

10-Day Insight Meditation Retreat with Ven. Gavesi April 23, 2019

English Dharma Group, Jade Buddha Temple will be hosting a 10-Day Vipassana meditation retreat at the American Bodhi Center (ABC, Hempstead TX) in April 2019 led by Venerable Gavesi. The first day of the retreat is Tuesday, April 23, 2019 and vegetarian meals are provided. Participants must attend the full 10 day retreat. A limited number of attendees will be accepted. Ven. Gavesi Bio


Ven. Gavesi was ordained in 2001 by the late Sayadaw U Pandita of Panditārama Forest Meditation Centre in Myanmar. For over 20 years, Ven. Gavesi has been practising both Samatha and Vipassana bhāvanā under various teachers such as Sayadaw U Pandita, Sayadaw Nyanapurnik, and Ven. Sujiva.
Currently, Ven. Gavesi teaches Vipassana technique in Malaysia as well as overseas. He is presently the Spiritual Adviser to Peace House in Penang, Malaysia.

Dress: White or single color shirt & pants, long pants.
